Financial Records Reviewer

Financial Records Reviewer

The global accounting industry is undergoing rapid evolution, and the role of bookkeepers has long since transformed. In the past, businesses and CPA firms only required bookkeepers to complete basic transaction recording. Today’s market not only demands that practitioners ensure data accuracy, but also expects them to possess strategic oversight capabilities, and to be able to produce complete, error-free financial reports.

OBG Outsourcing Private Limited is perfectly aligned with this industry trend. To expand its international client base, the company needs to scale up its quality control team. It is now recruiting a senior bookkeeping auditor among seasoned accounting professionals who are tired of repetitive data entry and eager to transition into high-impact quality control and management positions to lead related work. This is an opportunity for career growth that matches your professional expectations.

What Does a Bookkeeping Reviewer Do at OBG Outsourcing?

As a Bookkeeping and Audit Specialist, you serve as a critical link between business execution and final result delivery, and act as the last checkpoint for verification for global clients spanning the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and other regions. Your role guarantees that clients receive financial reports that are accurate, compliant, and ready for practical use. You will not handle basic daily journal entries. Instead, your core daily work focuses on four high-level tasks related to operational quality:

Quality assurance verification: you will audit daily transactions, multi-currency bank reconciliations, accounts receivable and payable, and general ledgers prepared by assistant bookkeepers.

Finalization of financial statements: you will verify and approve the core deliverable financial statements for monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles, including the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.

Process guidance and trainee development: you will identify repeated mistakes made by assistants, provide constructive feedback, and train junior team members on accounting standards and practical operational norms.

Fourth, global compliance oversight: you will ensure clients’ books align with regional tax laws, value-added tax requirements, and the GAAP standards applicable to each corresponding region.

The Tech & Tools You'll Master Modern accounting outsourcing relies on top-tier cloud software. At OBG Outsourcing, you’ll work directly within industry-standard accounting ecosystems and tech stacks, including:

Cloud Accounting Platforms: QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Xero, and Zoho Books.

Data & Analytics: Advanced MS Excel (Pivot Tables, complex lookup formulas, financial modeling).

Workflow Management: Integrated tools designed for tracking client SLAs, task completion, and team performance metrics.

Who Is the Ideal Candidate?
We are looking for professionals who combine sharp technical accounting knowledge with an eye for detail. You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

3 to 6 years of core bookkeeping experience, with at least 1–2 years handling review, quality control, or team lead responsibilities in an accounting outsourcing or KPO environment.

A strong educational foundation in accounting (B.Com / M.Com, with CA Inter, ACCA, or CPA coursework considered a major advantage).

Deep familiarity with international accounting workflows, US/UK sales tax, and chart-of-accounts setups.

Clear, professional communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal managers and international stakeholders.

Why Choose OBG Outsourcing Private Limited?
Joining OBG Outsourcing isn't just about taking on a new title—it’s about accelerating your career in international finance.

Global Exposure: Work directly with varied client portfolios across multiple international markets, broadening your knowledge of global accounting frameworks.

A Bookkeeping Reviewer (or Accounting Supervisor) acts as a quality assurance layer for your financial operations. They oversee daily ledger entries, verify bank and credit card reconciliations, review month-end and year-end closing entries, ensure VAT/tax compliance, and generate accurate financial statements and MIS reports. They also train and mentor junior bookkeeping staff to keep your accounting accurate and compliant.
By conducting multi-tier reviews before finalization, a Bookkeeping Reviewer identifies discrepancies early—such as unallocated transactions, incorrect categorization, cash flow anomalies, or tax miscalculations. Their systematic audit of journal entries and reconciliations significantly lowers error rates, preventing costly compliance penalties and tax filing delays.
OBG Outsourcing offers flexible hiring models tailored to your business needs: Full-Time Dedicated: A dedicated reviewer working exclusively on your firm's client accounts. Part-Time: Structured support for firms needing regular oversight without a full-time commitment. Hourly / On-Demand: Flexible reviewer assistance during peak periods, such as month-end closures or year-end tax season.
Our reviewers are proficient in major accounting software platforms, including Xero, QuickBooks (Online & Desktop), Sage, MYOB, and Wave. For UK and international clients, they ensure strict compliance with standards such as Making Tax Digital (MTD), VAT regulations, reverse charge rules, and standard GAAP/IFRS practices.
Outsourcing a reviewer enables CPA firms to bridge internal skill gaps and scale capacity without the overhead costs of recruiting senior local staff. Senior partners can focus on strategic client advisory and business growth, confident that offshore reviewers are managing quality control, staff oversight, and accuracy on routine client files.
