Hire a BAS & GST Compliance Officer

Hire a BAS & GST Compliance Officer

The global accounting landscape is shifting rapidly, and Australian accounting practices are increasingly turning to dedicated offshore teams in India for high-quality compliance support. At OBG Outsourcing Private Limited, we stand at the forefront of this evolution—delivering end-to-end accounting, tax, and compliance solutions to Australian businesses and firm partners.

As our client base in Australia continues to expand, we are opening doors for sharp, detail-oriented accounting professionals to step into a crucial role: BAS & GST Compliance Officer.

If you have a knack for Australian tax regulations, love working with modern cloud platforms like Xero and MYOB, and want to build a career with global exposure, this opportunity is tailored for you.

What Does a BAS & GST Compliance Officer Do at OBG Outsourcing?

In Australian business taxation, precision is everything. As a BAS & GST Compliance Officer at OBG Outsourcing, you aren't just processing numbers—you are the engine that keeps our Australian clients compliant with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

Your core focus will center around three key pillars:

1. Activity Statement Excellence (BAS & IAS)

You will take charge of preparing, reconciling, and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS). This includes analyzing input tax credits, double-checking tax coding, and preparing accurate lodgments before ATO deadlines.

2. Comprehensive GST & Bank Reconciliations

GST errors can cost businesses significantly. You will conduct deep-dive GST reconciliations across client ledgers, identifying anomalies, correcting misclassifications, and verifying that every claim aligns with current Australian tax guidelines.

3. Payroll & General Ledger Integrity

Beyond GST, you will oversee PAYG Withholding (PAYGW) and PAYG Instalments (PAYGI), ensuring client books match Single Touch Payroll (STP) reports and Superannuation guarantee standards before final sign-off.

Why Is This Role Great for Your Accounting Career?

Working in global outsourcing gives you a competitive edge that traditional local accounting roles often cannot match. Here is what makes this role at OBG Outsourcing stand out:

Direct Exposure to AU Tax Frameworks: Master the intricacies of Australian taxation law, expanding your domain expertise into one of the most structured accounting regimes in the world.

Hands-on Practice with Leading Software: Gain daily, high-level expertise in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks Online (QBO), and practice management workflows like Xero Practice Manager (XPM).

Professional Growth & Mentorship: Work alongside seasoned AU accounting experts who help refine your technical knowledge and quality assurance skills.

Work-Life Balance & Shift Stability: Work during Australian business hours, allowing you to wrap up your workday earlier than typical local corporate shifts.

What We Look For in Candidates

To succeed in this role at OBG Outsourcing, ideal candidates typically possess:

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (CA/CPA/Inter-CA/ACCA candidates welcomed).

Experience: 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience handling Australian BAS, GST reconciliations, and general ledger accounting within an outsourcing firm or direct Australian practice.

Software Mastery: Demonstrated proficiency in Xero, MYOB, or QBO alongside strong MS Excel skills.

Communication: Clear, confident written and verbal English skills to collaborate smoothly with onshore Australian accounting managers and clients.
